Just recently, I was invited to be a guest on one of my favorite podcasts – the Right On Baby! Inner Growth show at www.JadeInspiration.com.
The Right On Baby! podcast is an online radio series that covers all sorts of positive and healthy topics, including everything from giving up sugar, overcoming bullying, moving past self-doubt, and, of course, getting fit and living a healthy lifestyle. Each blog post and podcast seems to explore a different way of transforming your life for the better.
In The Show
So, how exactly would you define a “healthy lifestyle”?
Does it require running five miles a week? Do you need to be able to bench-press 315lbs? Is it when you have a shredded six pack with bulging biceps?
Being healthy makes everything better. You feel great. You look awesomer. You think smarter. You become stronger. What is there not to want about any of that?
Becoming Healthier And Happier
It took years of ignoring a bunch of poor habits before I finally took stock of what was working and what wasn’t. Once I payed closer attention to them, I started doing more of the good things and less of the bad, and, wouldn’t you know it, and it led to great progress.
If you’re just lifting some weights and hopping on the stationary bike every so often, that’s just a small piece of the puzzle. You should also be focusing on the things you’re doing outside of the gym.
Are you stuffing your face with fast food? Competing in the booze olympics? Hunching over at the computer for hours on end? Everything impacts us somehow, and someway, so you might as well tip the odds in your favor.
Goals will be your biggest ally in your path to a healthier and happier lifestyle. Without goals, there is nothing for you to achieve, so by definition, you’ll never be successful.
This is why mindset is so important whenever you go into a challenge. If you’re not ready or willing to make a change, then there’s just little chance someone else can help you. If you want success bad enough, you’ll go out and get it. If you don’t want to lose weight, I probably can’t force you to stop eating cheeseburgers.
Whenever you find yourself seemingly unsuccessful at something, take a look at your goals. As soon as you create better goals for yourself, you can start designing your actions towards the goals and eventually chip away until you hit a success.
I had a lot of fun chatting with Jade about my past experiences, struggles and successes. Be sure to check out the closing minutes of the episode where Jade shares one of her most exciting fitness goals yet! With my background as a personal trainer, I’ve offered my assistance and will be checking in with Jade along the way to see how things progress. Good luck and thanks again, Jade!!
